How many of you want to see Hobby Master make a 1:48 P-51D Mustang ?
I would like to see a good one made and i want to see a
Cripes A Mighty PE & P Mustang too....as a first release because to date
no one makes the highest scoring Mustang Ace last fighter plane.
We need a good Mustang mold...But in order to make this work we may have to ask for P-51D Mustangs
that have not been made yet...

Yes please!
After they release a Cripes A Mighty PE & P, I hope it will be followed by Col. John Meyer's Petie 2nd/3rd PE & M livery.

I think everyone knows where I stand on this subject... YES!!!!!

I'll do some research and come up with some ideas for new liveries (Starman's suggestion is a good one to start with), but I'd want them to re-do a bunch of the ones CDC/FM have come up with over the years anyway.

Yeah I would pick one up. I think it is crazy that there is not a good example of the P-51D in 1/48th scale.

Re: Would You Like To See Hobby Master Make A P-51D Mustang ?

Thanks for posting this poll JP!!!

YES!!!!

Dear Hobby Master,

I would buy at least 1/2 dozen 1:48 scale P-51Ds, produced with TLC to details, fit, and finish (and maybe more!!!), which I know you are capable of.

Sincerely,
Elmer

Re: Would You Like To See Hobby Master Make A P-51D Mustang ?

Given the size of the US market alone and the consistent popularity of the Mustang P51D, I really think that a good casting will sell well over many years i.e. not a big risk for HM (if made well).

Although I've joked in the past that the P51D is a 'girlie' plane, there's always been something inherently stylish about it and I think it even edges out the Spitfire in the looks department (FW190 wins on 'tough' looks with P47 in second place) .

Re: Would You Like To See Hobby Master Make A P-51D Mustang ?

I honestly don't think you can ever have too many Mustangs. Not possible! And I would like to see what Hobby Master could do with it. I'm really impressed with their stuff, so covering the Mustang is a good choice.

As far as paint schemes go though, I'd really hope though that they wouldn't double (or even triple) up on any of the schemes already done, and try to go with something NOT from the 8th AF. Lots and lots of pilots flew P-51s contrary to what's portrayed out there. We just don't need a F-104 Really George situation here. Go with maybe one or two mainstream, 'we've all seen it' schemes, then give some other units some of the diecast spotlight.
