....besides what are future collectors going to buy?

I'm not concerned about them. If they really wanted to collect this stuff bad enough they should've been here right now like the rest of us...

Re: Would You Like To See Hobby Master Make A P-51D Mustang ?

I have enough mustangs, too many companies do them already.

At 1:48? Who else makes them besides Franklin Mint?? No one, and that one is badly done.

Read JP's first post... it clearly indicates this is a poll for a 1:48 P-51D.

Re: Would You Like To See Hobby Master Make A P-51D Mustang ?

Who said anything about 1:48 scale?

Ummm... isn't this thread / poll about a 1:48 scale P-51D?? Read the first post.

For all 1:72 collectors out there: I am just curious... are you voting no because you would not collect a 1:48 scale model? If that is the case, consider fairness and equity for 1:48 collectors. If you wish HM would stick strictly to 1:72, then I can see why you would vote no to a poll that asked "would you like to see HM make 1:48 scale models." However, HM has decided to make a 1:48 line. The point I am trying to make is, given the fact that HM will carry on with a 1:48 line, why should you care if HM makes this model (or any other model) at 1:48 if you do not collect 1:48?

Re: Would You Like To See Hobby Master Make A P-51D Mustang ?

NO as well for me. While not in 1:48, there are plenty of other good models of P-51D in 1:72, 1:18, 1:32, and 1:35 scales. I would like to see more "niche" aircraft from HM rather than something that has been done to a high standard before, even if in another scale. The same applies to Spitfires and ME-109s.

Regards,

Sergey

I take it you think the P-51D, Spitfire, and ME-109 not deserving (and collectors deserving) of these iconic aircraft in decent 1:48 scale?

What I'm saying is that you have alternatives for these aircraft, while the collectors of the Soviet, French, and Italian aircraft have to settle for barely acceptable IXO models.

Sergey

You state your point well. Nevertheless, if one prefers 1:48, one does not have decent / quality alternatives for these aircraft at 1:48.

BTW... what happened to the poll? Is it just me or is everyone getting a "poll closed" with big goose eggs for numbers?

Elmer,
I have to tell ya this is not going very well.....There are too many 1/72nd collectors voting NO.
Must be a scale thing for them.

Yeah, I suspect as much. Perhaps the poll could be reposted with it clearly stated for 1:48 collectors only? I don't know how you would prevent collectors of other scales from voting though.

Re: Would You Like To See Hobby Master Make A P-51D Mustang ?

I sure hope they don't divert ANY resources from 1:72nd for a p-51 1:48. I sure as hell am fighting for space just storing my 1:72nd's and 1/200 fighters
