HM to make F9-F in 1:48

Okay, I did get an email confirmation on this this morning, an F9-F is slated to be the third 1:48 release -- after the Spit. There's nothing set in stone for the 4th subject (apparently it's not looking like an I-16), now would be a great time to lobby for a P-51D as I think they're listening

Great, another plane I want in 1/72 coming in 1/48. At least the Buffalo seems to be coming in 1/72 thanks to MRC.

Re: HM to make F9-F in 1:48

Sensational !!! I thought this would be in 1/72 if anything, but in 1/48, my favorite scale, that's simply beyond my dreams.

This aircraft will be much more impressive in that scale anyway.

I'll always remember that plane from the movie "The Bridges at Toko-Ri." It's about time this era of carrier aviation was visited. Hats off to HM for taking the initiative. They are on the right track all the way (although not sure about the no future weathering initiative, if that's true).

Will it be the Panther or the Cougar? Either will be welcome in my collection.

That's a good question,Blackie...I hope it's the Panther, which I would imagine it would be.

I kind of assume it would be the Panther, but it's true we can't tell from just the F-9F designation. I hope they do both! (but I prefer the Panther if we have to choose).

Re: HM to make F9-F in 1:48

Can the mold be tooled to produce both variants? I would love both.

This is incredibly exciting news. Like FVD, I have loved the Panther since I saw "Bridges at Toko-Ri" years ago (one of my favorite movies... and Gracy Kelly, what can I say!!). And to have it in 1:48, my preferred scale. FVD is right, this should be impressive.

Regarding the 4th release, I want a P-51D. If HM is considering it, now is the time for those who want a P-51D model produced with TLC and craftsmanship to pull together. For many (including me) this is THE iconic aircraft of WWII; it really deserves a fine diecast representation at 1:48.

Way to go HM!!! This list of releases makes more sense to me than the first list which Hawk posted.
