Re: Please make this F-4!

I plan on picking up only a few F-4s, especially the GA British Spooks. If Zed's tip off is any indication, it sounds like there will be three companies putting out Phantoms. 2008 may turn into the "Year of the Phantom Overload"...

I think zed is Yoshi.

Re: Please make this F-4!

Even if we get 3 Phantom molds, probably none will be the B/N and all their amazing schemes. (Best of the best are on the early Navy ones). Same problem we had in the plastic kit world with the F-8. 3 new kits, all 3 being the E/J. If someone came out with an F-8C/D kit, they'd have a monopoly on it. If someone makes a diecast F-4B/N, they'll be the only ones to make the really neat looking Sundowners, Ghost Riders, Pukin Dogs, Chargers, Vigilantes, etc.

This is where CW will hopefully step in.

Thats not True. Its never stopped Witty from putting all their different markings on versions that THEY think fits. Lets hope they don't enter this market

If Zed's "hint" is true, and CW is coming out with an F-4 Phantom as well, I would not be the least bit surprised if they do an F-4B/N. In fact, I would expect it--Why?, you ask. Well, CW's emphasis is US Navy aircraft and the F-4B/N was a major Phantom type in USN service, like the F-4J. As David Hintgen has noted, there are numerous color schemes which are only correct on the F-4B/N. And finally, HM is doing the F-4J; a fact that CW is well aware of. Rather than come out with a competing F-4J, why not do an F-4B/N which would have its own market?... A CW F-4B/N would, in a sense, complement the HM F-4J, instead of competing with it. I think a CW makes a lot of sense from a lot of perspectives.

I hope I am correct in this analysis as I would love to see an F-4B/N as well as a HM F-4J. I really do not think it is unreasonable to expect to see both. If CW is reading this, I encourage them to do the F-4B/N,

Re: Please make this F-4!

I'm glad HM is doing the Phantom but I betcha CW isn't so happy right now!!! HM beat them to the punch on this one!

I think you will find that each of these companies will be making different variants, I can't see them going head to head.

I've come to the same conclusions myself.
