Hobby Master Mirage 2000c

In case you haven't noticed, Hawkonevoodoo has some pictures up on his site of the first two schemes that Hobbymaster will be releasing of the Mirage 200o. I like the "Desert Storm" version!

Re: Hobby Master Mirage 2000c

...I don't know why, but for some reason I'm not excited about this release...well, it does look nice and I'm sure it will have the usual Hobbymaster quality, but for some reason I can't seem to get excited about this one...Now if it was the A-1, I'd be all over it.

Re: Hobby Master Mirage 2000c

Thanks for the heads up! Ooooh can't wait for these bad boyz!

Yes, I like both schemes but I'm leaning towards the "Desert Storm" livery as well.

Re: Hobby Master Mirage 2000c

If done well, this release will be a must-have for me. French aircraft are very under-represented in diecast, yet are all over the world operated by many countries and employed in combat ops by the French Air Force. The recent FM Mirage III in 1/48 is so bad that I don't even count that one.

This applies to both current and historical French aviation.

This being said, I cannot remember a Mirage 2000C color scheme like the "Desert Storm" one shown on the Hobbymaster collector site. I'll double check my archives, but it doesn't look right. I really believe all the Mirage 2000Cs in Desert Storm/Operation Daguet were painted in the standard multi-tone blue cammo (as on the other HM scheme).

I could be wrong, but...

Cool Re: Hobby Master Mirage 2000c

Thanks for the heads-up Spinnaker! Appreciate that. I'm surprised by the desert scheme as well. Looking forward to your update FVD. It's great having French aircraft represented in 1/72 at long last. IXOs notwithstanding.

I have photos (in a book) of the Mirage 2000C in the "Desert Storm" colours. The book says "most Mirage 2000s deployed to the Gulf retained their European colour scheme in various shades of gray, but a few of the aircraft were repainted in the desert colour scheme".

Thumbs up Yepeeeee...!!!

I'll take BOTH ! (of course !...)

If it is as good as HM superb Mig 21 (superior to their F104 in my humble opinion), even you Tundra will find it difficult to resist...!

Dassault is really the Pininfarina of the air, look at these lines !

Any chauvinism apart, few other design have ever matched the breathtaking beauty of the Mirages : Saab J32 Lansen, Grumman F11F Tiger, Convair F106, A5J Vigilante...

The existence of desert camouflaged Mirage 2000 in Opsesert Storm (Daguet Operation, in 1991) is undeniable.

Re: Hobby Master Mirage 2000c

Hey there folks,
To me, this is just another example of Hobby Master stepping up and giving us what we want. Planes that no one else would think of offering.

Anything for a weird life.
