Hobby master release dates

Looks like Hobby Master will be hard pressed to complete the 2007 release schedule. They have a number of Aircraft still to do and it looks like it may be well into 2008 before we see any of them.

Alot of these companies seem to be doing that lately. Maybe it is like ours, it is their "WISH LIST RELEASES" for 2007.

Nockers,
Hey there.

Is this just opinion, or did you hear something? Bunches of neat items in the works from Hobby Master that I'm looking forward to.

Anything for a weird life.

Re: Hobby master release dates

It seems to me Hobby Master has been pretty consistent and reliable with its release dates... that is, compared to other companies. When they put up a release on their official web-site, the release comes out within weeks (not months like some other companies) of the official date. Carousel 1 also seems to be reliable with its release dates.

Re: Hobby master release dates

Just look at what they plan to do in 2007 then look at the release dates on the Hobby Master collector page.

For instance the A-4E not due till May and thats second on the list the T-6 Third on the list first one due sometime this month . That leaves 10 new molds for the last 7 months of the year.
Also the A-10's were due in Janurary did not hit the states till what was it mid Feburary. I rarely believe release dates. My policy is when I see someone with it in stock I believe it. Another point
The Hobby Master page said "The A-4s will probably be released in March 2007." First one is now May. He posted that because thats what he was told so here we are two months behind . Not gripeing about it just faceing the facts as I see them. I think 12 new molds from a new company may have been dreaming a bit. If you look at he list it should be at least 1 new bird a month, here we are into the forth month with just 1 new bird on the shelf so far. (A-10) The worst thing. a company can do is give someone a release date and not make it. All they hear then is crying. Their are many unexpected delays in the design an production of the product. I am happy they are doing what they say And I can wait for my F-5's to show

Re: Hobby master release dates

To be fair, Hobby Master release dates are when they ship from the factory, not when they arrive in the retail stores. And so far they have been pretty good at keeping to their release schedule.

According to my reckoning, the following new moulds are still to be released this year: -
1) Mirage 2000
2) P-39
3) Bf-110
4) F-4 Phantom
5) F-5E
6) Mig-29
7) F-100
8) P-61
9) A-1 Skyraider

That's certainly an optimistic schedule! But I am happy for them to delay some if it means that we get: -
a) a better quality model (ie. not rushed out the door)
b) unique models, not being made by other companies.

On the basis of point b) above, I wouldn't be unhappy if they delayed the models that have also been announced by other manufacturers; the Phantom (Gemini), Mig 29 (Corgi) and the A1 Skyraider (Gemini).

yeah but if they did that, people would probably go and buy the other brands cos its out first instead of holding back a bit and seeing what hobby master has to offer. I don't know about you, but if I buy one brand, the another brand had to be very much better to get me thinking to buying that plane again. Gemini and HM I reckon would be close contenders. Corgi can go and get **** compared with these fellas haha I reckon I wouldn't touch a Corgi A-10 since HM has got theirs out and looking pretty sharp as they are now.

Your point is well taken. I have looked at Hawk's site and the releases are ambitious, and perhaps, HM will not get through the entire release schedule this year. My point is that releases have been pretty consistent with the official web-site, not Hawk's site. Contrast this with the long delays from Corgi, Eagles, and Franklin Mint; on the whole, I think HM is doing a bang-up job with their release dates. So far, nothing has been delayed as long as EI's Texan, or as long as Corgi's Hawker Typhoons (to name a few). We are only barely into the 2nd quarter of the year; time will tell.

Re: Hobby master release dates

I would have to agree with Andrew that 'firstest with the mostest' usually wins the game. For example the only Corgi Predator I have is the George Bush Avenger because it was available to me before the HM aircraft. Hobbymaster were first with the Dauntless, F-104, Mig -21, and A-10 and they got my money, and also I'm happy with them. IMHO there is very little between the HM and Corgi moulds on these birds and certainly not enough for duplicates.
Don't know about anybody else but I feel there is a serious 'drought' of new models hitting stores at present what with the Ju-52, and Halifax being delayed. Bring on the the new aircraft as i need a fix!
