Re: Why Why Why does Hobby Master Use Crap Boxes???

Personally, I really do not care, as long as I get my model in good shape.

Re: Why Why Why does Hobby Master Use Crap Boxes???

I've liked some of the HM stuff because of the price. Starfighter, Mig 21, Dauntless (x2) all under $20. Now with the A-10 and Avenger about the same pice as Corgi Predators, and Corgi having nicer boxes, it doesn't leave much room for HM to charge more for a better box.

And you are right, the Corgi boxes are amazing.

I really like the HM boxes with the exception of I seem to have a little trouble occasionally with the lids

Re: Why Why Why does Hobby Master Use Crap Boxes???

I did notice that HM’s boxes were not as sturdy as others, but as long as the box keeps my plane from arriving in six pieces, I’m fine with it. Once the plane is on the shelf the box is just clutter anyway. While I certainly wouldn’t mind a sturdier box, I also would not want to pay extra for it. My hobby is buying and collecting metal model planes, not empty cardboard.

Re: Why Why Why does Hobby Master Use Crap Boxes???

Yeah, stronger boxes would be OK, but I hope it doesn't increase cost by more than a couple of bucks. I don't mind the current ones too much, and that's even though I keep mine for future transportation (as I will eventually move).

FVD

I bet in qty Corgis Predator Box and Card does not cost more than $1.00 more than anybody elses. Probably more like 50 cents or something.

The mfg just gotta want to do it and make there product more collectible. Someone else mentioned just storing them the HM boxes scratch and are so weak a few too many and they start to bend and bow.

I am sure he price would not be affected too much by the box. I work for an importer of Car Drivertrain Parts, the parts cost almost the same in a generic white box or a nice logo box that is much nicer, and we are talking twice the size of these.
