Re: The 4th. A-10

Personally, I'd rather they pick one that hasn't been done by someone else, albeit in another scale -- I have this one by FM, and it's a beaut... though some of the white paint on the invasion stripes on the engine is starting to peel...

It's a special D-Day commemorative scheme -- I think for the 50th anniversary

Re: The 4th. A-10

I'm a little dissapointed with this, and the dumb "peanut" release by Hobby Master. I guess they want variety, but I just don't see why you have to pick such obsecure planes. I'm really hoping that someone will wise up and do a ANG unit (no it doesn't have to be the 111th PA unit). I think it would be a nice little tribute to these units. Rumor has it that one of them will be going back over to the 'sandbox' again soon. Also, I would love to see an updated weapons load with the Lightning pod and such.

Just a minor point: it's the Litening pod, not Lightning. Don't ask me why, but it is so.

Your substantial point is excellent, though. Realistic, up-to-date weapons loads would be nice. And operational liveries, please...

Re: The 4th. A-10

Didn't one of the ANG units win something similar to the Top Gun a few years ago beating the regular Air Force units? That might be one to consider.

ANG units beating regular AF in competitions is a very common thing. They don't fly as many hours per month on average, but their experience level (both aircrews and ground support crews) is way higher than regular squadrons (average pilot probably has tow or three times the flying hours in the Guard than regular AF). That more than compensates.

So your post may potentially apply to a lot of units...
