Re: The 4th. A-10

My bad on that, i'm just so used to say 'lightning' and its a bad habit i need to break!!

The A-10's have an 'olympics' of sorts called HAWGSMOKE. it's held every two years, the last being in 2006. it was held at davis-monthan afb. the team that wins the previous event hosts the next. 2006's winner was the 303 FS, Whiteman AFB, MO. rounding out the top 5 were 2) 354th Davis-Monthan, AZ 3) 47 FS Barksdale, LA, 4) 118th FS Bradley, CT, and 5) 103rd FS Willow Grove, PA. the last place team was the 172nd FS, Battle Creek MI. 17 total teams competed. the next event (apparently) can't however be held at that base (Whiteman), so they are thinking of doing it in kansas at a very large range there.

Re: The 4th. A-10

Those 'hog' noses are from Barksdale, LA. The 3rd scheme (Peanut Camo) HobbyMaster is coming out with is from that unit, and if you look at the pics, you can see it has that different type hog mouth on it. Which is great except it's in freakin Peanut colors!!!

Re: The 4th. A-10

Well maybe they will make one in the gray colors later on.
To be honest the peanut camo is not all that bad...Just different..

Re: The 4th. A-10

Ya gotta admit it was "unique"! I have one of every livery in FM 1/48.
Not sure if the JAWS 'stands out' or 'sticks out"!

[By any chance are you the same Waltz41 over on the WT Forums?]
