This plane absolutely must be done! It would be very impressive even at 1/72 scale.

Even more impressive at 1:48 scale...

I heard it was flying right wing to Corgi's F-82.

Re: P-61 Blackwidow where are you....????

I assume that pretty soon we will hear something "official"from Hobby Master as to their 2008 plans. In addition to the P-61, they mentioned a 2007 I-16, MC-202 and, more in the rumor vein, a possible SB2C was also suggested. I hope that all four are eventually done and hope that HM isn't just testing the waters by announcing new mold plans just to gauge reactions. Also, I am concerned about their choice of scales. I would have preferred them to be more consistent in this respect. For example, why do the P-39, BF-110 , TBFand SBD in 1:72 , but the F2A and Spitfire MK XIV in 1:48? It can't be a size issue, nor is it a popularity question. It would make a lot more sense, to me at least, for HM to put out a basic 1:72 line, which allows them to include larger planes at less risk, along with a more selective 1:48 line, in some cases featuring the same planes. In other words, instead of considering each new plane as a totally unique opportunity, why not develop a cohesive strategy to compete in the increasingly fragmented diecast marketplace. If they want to unseat Corgi and Dragon as the overall leaders, then plan a cohesive and qualitatively superior 1:72 line. If they want to be niche players, filling voids in the other manufacturers' lineups, then that's another matter. In that event , maybe the current approach is better for them profit-wise.

I agree! I really hope Hobby Master will release a P-61 Black Widow in 2008 and in 1/72nd scale!! I want to buy at least two for my collection.

I sent this opinion to the people at Hobby Master so they can see what people are thinking and saying. This could make a change to their choices or who knows whatever else.
Thanks for the input.

Nothing to report JP. I keep hoping to hear something one way or another. Looking at the positive side, they haven't come out and said they weren't making it so it must still be rolling around as a possible. There's nobody more anxious to see this model made than me.
