MiG-21 Stands

OK, one of the things I DON'T like about the HM MiG-21s, is that they won't sit on the stands with the centerline fuel tank installed.

So, I decided to modify the stand...

First, I cut of the existing points on the side arms. I bought some 1/8" styrene rod (Evergreen), but it was too big for the holes in the wings, so I cut two pieces, dremeled one end of each down to fit, and glued them onto the stand arms. Once the glue cured for 24 hours, it seems to work GREAT...

This is what the stand looked like before I painted the styrene rod black.

Re: MiG-21 Stands

Do you happen to have a picture with the Mig on the stand?

Thumbs up Re: MiG-21 Stands

That's quite a dramatic change and thank you for that modification tip, sir!

The knowledge base and ingenuity among forum members is awesome. Well done Gunner and thanks for the tip as I have two Mig -21s that require treatment!

Re: MiG-21 Stands

This problem has been mentioned to Hobby Master several times and hopefully they will come up with a solution.
