Re: 1:48 Wildcat?

I have it, and can take some tonight.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: 1:48 Wildcat?

Really? What don't you like about the C1 Wildcats?

Well... first I must say I haven't seen one in person, I have only closely inspected Mark's photos, so MD may be right, they may be much better in person; second, I love C1's Dora and P-40 (although they are by no means perfect).

So, from the looks of Mark's great pics, to me 1) the panel detailing doesn't look as crisp and fine as C1's effort with the Dora and the P-40; 2) the model really lacks rivet detail--look at Dragon's 1:72 effort and I think you will see what I mean; if Dragon can pour nice rivet detailing into a 1:72 model, why can't C1 into a 1:48? 3) HM almost certainly would have provided an in-flight display stand, positioning canopy, and positioning control surface--all qualities I want in a model and which C1 does not provide; and finally, 4) I HATE C1's rubber guns and aerials--mine have been wonky, they look unauthentic and give what should be a nice model replica, a toy-like quality.

For all of these reasons, I was disappointed when HM cancelled their 1:48 Wildcat. Fortunately (despite the rubber guns and aerials) C1 made a really nice Dora (although EI would have given us some of the qualities I seek: in flight display stand, positioning control surfaces--so I am also a little disappointed that EI cancelled its plans for the Dora).

Well, if I didn't try -- a certain rodent would have stunk up the thread for sure :-) (with better results I'm sure!)

Yeah, but did you see Casino Royale?
