Re: Heads up HM, incoming !!!!!!

Soooo, somebody tell me what the fuselage door on the A-1 was used for.

Flying outhouse?

Seriously, these are all good candidates. I don't collect jets, generally, but might be temped by the A-1. Used to watch those things take off and land on the carriers off Vietnam (I was on an ammunition ship, and we supplied them with aerial weapons and water--for the catapults). We also watched the carriers land F-4s during the unreps (the landings took place a few hundred feet from our fully loaded transport). The sound of those heavy fighters hitting the deck was unbelievable. Don't know how those planes, and their landing gear, could take the punishment.

Re: Heads up HM, incoming !!!!!!

Someone really should do an A-6. After all, it was once a movie star too.....Who saw (or read) Flight of the Intruder?

Read the book and saw the movie. Great flick! I love the part when they sang "Goin' Downtown" tune by Petula Clark - memorable hit at the time!

My dad was on the Independence during the 70's... You may have shot him off in an S-2 or S-3..

Re: Heads up HM, incoming !!!!!!

Without a doubt I would order versions of each one of these planes were HM to make them. C'mon HM - I have my credit card in hand waiting to place my order!
