Finally a tri-colored Hellcat

That's right boys and girls Hobbymaster collector has pics of the Vraciu bird on his site. I cannot wait this is the one I have been holding out for. The Matchbox Vraciu cat has been steadfast in my collection but will soon be moving on to another hangar. How sweet it is!

Re: Finally a tri-colored Hellcat

It does look good, however the tail to body fit has me feeling luckwarm. Dragon is far superior in this area, and I'm still hoping they'll do a 3 tone Hellcat. Heck even a two tone bird would be welcomed.

Agreed Shawn. I've been waiting patiently for a three tone Hellcat and just when I see the light at the end of the tunnel - WHAM! An on-coming train with a poorly engineered tail to body fit! I'm going to have to wait until I see a production model to see if this has been fixed. The pics I've seen of HobbyMaster's other Hellcats all show the same defect - not a positive for a company that wants to be known for a quality product.

Unhappy Re: Finally a tri-colored Hellcat

I've been waiting for a 3 tone bird but this one hasn't given me the same level of enthusiasm as the RN one.

It's interesting that the RN Hellcat has been very well received in the UK judging by the reports on that forum. I don't recall anyone noting this defect.

Re: Finally a tri-colored Hellcat

I think it looks good. What is wrong with it. The real Hellcat has a pretty funky tail.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Get the enlarged pictures and look where the tail fin joins with the fuselage. It looks as if the entire tail assembly was molded as a seperate piece and then "dropped" over the horizontal stabilizers and attached to the lower fuselage. The whole assembly "sticks" up higher than the plane's back. Looks like two parts that weren't engineered correctly leaving an ugly seam and a raised surface. Dragon's Hellcat doesn't have this defect. This defect looks pretty noticeable on HobbyMaster's pre-production photos. I'm praying it will be fixed on the real models.

Re: Finally a tri-colored Hellcat

I see what you mean now. I thought you were talking about the panel lines. I see what you mean, and it is wrong, but I will more than likely buy it regardless. It would be nice if Hobbymaster can fix it.
