Which One

I am running out of display room, but I want to add a 1:72 Wildcat and Hellcat to the mix. Dragon or Hobby Master? Which livery? My wallet is in your hands.

Re: Which One

Dragon makes the best Wildcat out there. I have both Dragon and HM/Corgi Hellcats are they are a even 50-50 split. But I lean more towards Dragon. I'm not a fan of the seperate tail piece for HM/Corgis Hellcats.

Re: Which One

Dragon is your best bet for both birds but stay away from its "Wildcat" with the absurdly elongated prop piston. This was a poorly advised attempt to pass off an F4F mold as a later FM mark. Stick to the early war F4Fs and you will be fine.

Re: Which One

I think he means to say, stay away from the FM-2 labeled ones (Dark blue). Those and the Gambier Bay and Petrof Bay verisons. And while not 100% correct, they do look nice. I have one and the other on order. You could always try to get the proper propellar assembly off of Dragon Cares.

Re: Which One

Shawn - Dragon cares? Are they making a corrected prop hub and taller vertical stabilizer for the FM-2?

No they haven't corrected the tail on the "FM2", but you maybe able to get from Dragon Cares a replacement propellar part. You'll need a kit number from one of the light blue birds and may have to pay a small fee for the shipping. Someone mentioned a possible proper designation for the Wildcats with the Viagra prop hub, but I didn't write it down.

Re: Which One

Thanks guys. I already figured out the propeller hub problem. I think you talked me into the dragon.

You figured it out? Tell me then! I have this model and it is really bugging me. The FM-2 had a different hub than the F4F but not the one Dragon gave it on steroids or Viagra! I hope the solution you are recommending is not to just replace it with an F4F hub.
