Hobbymaster Migs and Stuka

I went by Biggunscollectibles (phantom phans store) yesterday. I left with an armfull of planes. Yipee I got the new desert Stuka(blue nose and camo) it is gorgeous and had the corrected canopy. I love it and it is making me sell some of my other Stukas to make room. I saw the new HM Hellcats, I was in love but still I'm just waiting for a Vraciu or other tri-color scheme but must admit the Fleet Air Arm was hard to pass up. I put these and a Dragon Hellcat side-by-side very close both have excellent fit and finish. I purchased the Iragi Mig 21 and the new Russian Mig 21. I took the Russian Mig out of it's box and holy cow it is sooooooooooooo nice. It went together really well and has lots of smaller details and stencilling unlike Corgi's blase' attempt. The Soviet Mig is a must and my favorite of the 2. I also saw the Ding Hao P-51B from Gemini. It rivals Dragon easily in small detail, rivets, panel lines, gas filler caps, vents and intakes just beautiful and HEAVY. The pilot is probably the best pilot yet in any 1/72 model. Although Honorable mention goes to Corgi's Swordfish and MB's Fokker pilots. His store is bursting with great models but his Hobbymaster assortment is second to none. I really like seeing a model first hand before purchase. My blind purchase days are waning. Buy a Mig, buy a Stuka, oh yeah also saw 1st hand the Operation Torch SBD Dauntless. It is very well done. The red dive brakes set it apart from the rest and of course as always you get Hobbymasters attention to detail. It goes well with the Dragon Torch Wildcat. This just keeps getting better and better.......................

Re: Hobbymaster Migs and Stuka

Good for you Louie! I wish I had a good diecast store close by...my local hobby shop started getting Dragon, Corgi and Easy Models in last year, but the co-owner who started doing this has since passed away and the current managment won't stock any diecast (they will order it for me if I ask). But there is nothing like wandering into your fav shop and finding aisles full of diecast! Oh well, online for me I guess....

Re: Hobbymaster Migs and Stuka

My sentiments too Easy8. I would love a diecast store nearby that I could pop into now and again and see the stuff before I buy. I rely on all the chaps on the Hanger to help me out in choosing the good better models. but it would be nice to be able to see the models first. before buying.

BTW have you seen those amazing nose art wall clocks?

Re: Hobbymaster Migs and Stuka

I would have to get the one called Come home soon. Then I could tell her indoors that I bought it because, "it reminds me of you darling". (the plane not the pin up)!!!!!!!

Re: Hobbymaster Migs and Stuka

No kidding his store has lots of nostalgic signs, clocks, coffee mugs, books, desk top aviation nick-nacks and of course the beloved diecast model aircraft I live for. If you contact him you will soon find he sells alot of new models on e-bay at or below retail many times (sadly) at cost just to lighten his load. I am pleased with the selection. I would say he has more Hobbymaster and Witty than anything else.
