What does everyone think of the inked panels

Just got my first Dauntless the other day. I like it a lot apart from the inking of the panels on the underside.

What are peoples opinions on this?

My feeling is that inking it accentuates the lines a little too much. From the photo's I've seen here, it looks like the Corgi version does not come with this feature. - Does it make a big difference to the look of the plane.

Re: What does everyone think of the inked pannels

I like it; however, I cannot tell that HM has toned down the wash, as Hawk indicated several months back. The wash needs to be lighter still, especially on surfaces of models with lighter colored areas.

I personally don't like the inking of panel lines it makes it look like a toy to me....

Re: What does everyone think of the inked pannels

For the most part, I don't care for inking, but I think it depends on the model.. Some of IXO's planes look fine inked, while others look horrible.. Some of the darker HM planes look fine, the rest just look like IXOs...

IMHO, I would rather have NO inked lines, but that is just me..

I'm afraid that I don't particularly like them. Less is more!!! Keep it to the bare minimum.

Re: What does everyone think of the inked panels

I tend to like panel lines with a well applied light wash, failing which no inking is preferable (as with Corgi models).

Re: What does everyone think of the inked panels

Not too much. A little is O.K. But not too much. If it is not on the real aircraft, then don't put it on thte model. I don't mind Hobbymaster's lines though. IXO's are a bit much.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: What does everyone think of the inked panels

I'm in the minority. I love inked panel lines especially if they are done lightly. Most of the lines that are engraved are too deep for this scale anyway. IXO's lines are generally too dark but they aren't deep enough. A good coat of paint when I customize washes them out and then I've got to ink them myself - total pain in the rear.
