Dragon's limited edition "Chippy Ho" F/A-18C had outstanding whethering effects. I wish they came out with more like this one...

Re: What does everyone think of the inked panels

That particular Dragon model has aribrushed shadows and makes the plane look weathered, unlike IXO's or FOV's which have these overly accentuated panels, as if someone had used a pen and ran across the model.

On white models, like the Taiwan F-104G, the "inked" panel lines do look like crap, on a darker livery like the Vietnam-era Starfigther it's less intrusive.

HM did an impressive job on the "Big Fish" Polish MiG-21, excellent weathering, with "inked" lines AND airbrushing (I see 2 tones!)...they dropped that on the Soviet version though, and I don't think it's going to be done again certainly for cost-saving.

If they are going this way, I would thank them for leaving the panel lines alone altogether.

NO INKED PANELS.

It's horrific.

Why did they do it in the first place?
They need to take lessons from Witty and Dragon.

Re: What does everyone think of the inked panels

Just got my first Dauntless the other day. I like it a lot apart from the inking of the panels on the underside.

What are peoples opinions on this?

My feeling is that inking it accentuates the lines a little too much. From the photo's I've seen here, it looks like the Corgi version does not come with this feature. - Does it make a big difference to the look of the plane.

Ohhh...take a look at IXO/Atlaya's. Wayyyy over done.
