Re: HA1101 Grumman F-6F5 Hellcat "Minsi III"

I want to order this model, but am troubled by that "ridge line" on the spine where the tail unit attaches to the fuselage. This looks like a poor fit, and endemic with the mould, as it appears on both the Minsi and the FAA Hellcat. I don't want to get one of these models if the ridge line is a common fit. (And with my luck, if the problem occurs on one model in 100, I'll get that model! )

Anyway, does anyone have the skinny on this apparent problem.

Those hoop panel lines running down the fuselage look a bit exaggerated to me.

Is that just a trick of the photo, or are they like that in real life?

This same topic came up when Dragons Hellcat came out.
The model is correct, that is how the hellcat looks in real life.
Somebody had a photo to show this, im sure it will be posted again.

Thumbs up Re: HA1101 Grumman F-6F5 Hellcat "Minsi III"

Yes, the bombs and rockets are removable. However, the drop tank cannot be displayed in the model if it is positioned on the display stand. I really like this model. I'm sorry for being so slow with the pics tonight. It takes forever to unbox, prepare, shoot, disassemble, re-box, and repeat.

Thanks for your efforts mate! I for one really appreciate it! This bird looks great but I've ordered the RN one and will check out the French one when it arrives. Limited budget I'm afraid!

I was recently reading that the pilots who flew P38s in the Far East regularly dressed down to their 'shorts' due to the heat and lack of appropriate cooling mechanisms on the Lightning ... (something to do with the design I believe) .

One sheep to rule them all ...
