HM, How about making the A-26 Invader?

Last edited by trex0770 : 08-26-2007 at 04:56 AM. Reason: add photos
Heck, since everyone else is asking for their preferred aircraft I thought I might as well ask for the A-26 Invader. How about it HM? It's the perfect plane from a marketing point of view. Let me give you a list:
1. Long service life - WWII (both theaters), Korean War, Vietnam War, Bay of Pigs, African Wars
2. Operated by many countries - U.S.(Navy & Air Force), U.K., France, S. Vietnam, Brazil, Turkey, Portugal to name a few
3. Many variants - i.e. bubble nose, armed nose, radar controller gun turrets, manned turrets, wingtip fuel tanks, weapons loads, etc.
4. Both Civilian (i.e. firebomber, exec. transport) and Military (bomber, attack, night-fighter, transport, photo-recon, target tug, etc.)
5. Many liveries (silver, camo, dark blue, invasion stripes)

Besides the list, IMHO it's a cool plane. The fastest bomber aircraft in WWII, a bit of controversy involved as a clandestine aircraft in Vietnam and semi-famous in the '89 movie "Always" as a firebomber.

What do you guys think? Is anyone with me?

Here's some photos off the net.

Great call, cool plane, as mentioned tons of versions could be made off one mold.

Thumbs up Re: HM, How about making the A-26 Invader?

Where do I sign, above or below the line. It would be a great choice for HM or FOV to make and, since FOV has just produced the B-25 & B-26, the A-26 should fit into their marketing plan.

Re: HM, How about making the A-26 Invader?

I would be in for those as well. I think Eagles is going to do one in 1/48th but 1/72nd would be fun as well so that we can collect a ton of different schemes.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

I would also love to see one with the fire eaters paint scheme from Always.

Re: HM, How about making the A-26 Invader?

It's a great suggestion trex. Plenty of commercial reason and logic put forward. Put me down for at lease three schemes.

Re: HM, How about making the A-26 Invader?

Absolutely. Helldiver, Blackwidow, and Invader are the three planes I've been asking, begging, and pleading for from the beginning. Helldivers are the big missing component of our carrier forces, Blackwidows are just too cool not to make, and the Invader is probaby my favorite aircraft of WWII. I hope they make that one with the invasion stripes...Sexy.
