| Re: F-100 Hun That's a good lookin' model, and would go well with the "Really George" 104. I'd like to see one from the 510th TFS. Squadron markings were a stylized white bird on a purple stripe on the fin, with a purple and white checkerboard around the intake. | |||||||||||||

| Re: F-100 Hun Attached is a pic of the above mentioned bird. It ain't the greatest photo; I had a heck of a time trying to keep the book open to take the pic. It shows the design on the fin and the checkerboard. Not very common squadron colors, but still pretty good lookin' IMHO. The book is the Flight Colors F-100 Super Sabre by Gerard Paloque and Francois Weill, published by DTU in France 2006. (This is not a plug for the book, just trying to give credit where it is due). | |||||||||||||

I have the same book and you are right, it is a good looking plane. I like the pictures in your other book as well. I'm almost positive an F-100 won't happen this year but it just might show up in 2008, which isn't that far off. Man time flies. Personally and this is just my personal choice, I would love to see the Century fighters ( F-100, F-101 and so on, not the other company) done from start to finish and in order.

| Re: F-100 Hun
I agree with you wholeheartedly, HOV, but lets have them all in 1/48 where the detail really stands out. I grew up living approx. 3 miles from Foster AFB in Victoria, Texas. The first operational F-100C's were based here and I remember seeing them flying in the area and going to an "open house" at the base when I was 8 yrs old (1958). The aforementioned F100 COLOURS book (a fabulous, must have for century fighter fans) has several pages of profiles of the "C" models that were flown out of Foster. Although doing a mold of the "D" and "F" model probably creates more possibilities from the business sense, brother, I would go absolutely bonkers if a Foster "C" that I saw as a kid was offered as a model.------Happy collecting, markko

| Re: F-100 Hun
Yeah, bring on the F-100s. A "D" may be more popular, but the "C" was also widely used. The main differences that I can see between the "C" and "D"- the "D" has different wings, a different refueling probe and the antenna fairing in the tail is different. There are undoubtedly more, but those are the ones that are most obvious to me. BTW, the 510th bird pictured above is a "D". I'd also like to see an F model- so some good Wild Weasels could be made. And that leads to another question- is there enough of a market for the two seat versions of combat aircraft? Personally, I'd like to see some TA-4s and TF-104s...

| Very nice model. What scale is it? I have the camo Matchbox in 1/72 and that works for me right now. | |||||||||||||

| Man 0 man, would I like to see the F-100 in 1:72 or better yet, in 1:48. I have an Armour CDC (AA5192) in my collection of 23 1:00 planes. It's a rare bird I think. It's one of my first die cast models and I bought it years ago from an on-line hobby shop, [E-hobby or something like that], yet I've never seen it listed anywhere else, e.g., Aikens. Perhaps it was a special one-off for that seller. In any event, I'm hanging on to it regardless of what comes down the line. Something from CW or HM would be very nice. | |||||||||||||
