Any three tone Hellcats in the future

We know Hobby Master is going to do Minsi III, Varaciu (sp?), British and French versions. But I'd really like a 3 tone with red outlined insignia. Any plans on one of these?
Or do we have to hope Dragon will do it? Also, has anyone held the HM Hellcat up against Dragons for a side by side evaluation?

Re: Any three tone Hellcats in the future

Oh Shawn we can only hope so! In the days of MH1, I had posted several images of various colored Hellcats I would of loved to see HobbyMaster do. Included was a three tone version with a red surround to the national insignia. Since HobbyMaster listens to it's customers, we can only hope they'll listen now. I advise patience. Look at the upcoming P-61 from them next year as a sign that we may get the Hellcat we really want. Until then, my precious Hellcat dollars are staying put.

Yes, 3-tone Hellcat is a must...c'mon Hobby Master, you can do it! You're stronger than I am HotTrap, there's no way I can resist the upcoming HM Minsi III!

Any specific pilot with pictures and data and I will pass it along. No promise they will make it this year or at all but they will be made aware of it.

Re: Any three tone Hellcats in the future

One of the more famous tricolor schemes with the Red Surround is Jimmy Flatley's airplane, which is also the original Double Nuts CAG machine. Of course the demarcation lines of the plane's camo scheme is a bit ragged, as it was a repaint, but it is a rather famous airplane, depicted in the film "The Fighting Lady." Franklin Mint released it in 1/48, and did it pretty well, it would make a good candidate for Hobbymaster to do in 1/72.

Here is a color pic of the aircraft after the red surround was over painted in blue.

Strength has got nothing to do with it easy8. My reaction to Mins III is:
It's a real snoozer no matter how nice the mold is.

I know the scheme is boring, but the history and McCambell's achievements just make me have to get it!

Re: Any three tone Hellcats in the future

If'n I had my druthers, I'd lke to see a 3 tone VF 27 bird with cat mouth markings and red outlined insignia. That has always been my favorite look on a Hellcat.
But since I do not have the WW2 aircraft reference library, I cannot provide pilot names and history.

Re: Any three tone Hellcats in the future

This is a great picture fly! The plane looks grungy and war weary. I'm tired of these pristine planes we seem to get. I cast my vote for this scheme!
