Question Hawkonevoodoo, help !

Found on your site, 1/48 models for 2007 : F2A, Spitfire XIV, MC202, MC205, I-17
What is a I-17 ? The only one I know is a pre-war Polikarpov prototype...

Do you know if the Spitfire 14 will be with a teardrop canopy ?

Thanks.

Re: Hawkonevoodoo, help !

As everyone knows here, I am fan of the Soviet pre-WWII and WWII aircraft, but even I not going to splurge on I-17. Are you sure it's I-17 and not anything else. Seriously, anything else will sell better.

Regards,

Sergey

I fully agree and I have emailed them asking for confirmation and waiting for a reply. It has been a couple of days because there is a model fair going on in Hong Kong that has them quite busy, I should know today or tomorrow.
What do you think would be the best prop option to replace it if they did change their mind? Just one choice.

Maybe the I -17 was a error.

Since we are talking 1:48 scale here, I would go with I-16 type 5 (cloesed cockpit) and I-16 Type 24 (the workhorse of the Red Army in 1941 and Safonov's mount).

Of sourse, if we are talking about 1:72, then by all means one has to stick with MiG-17

I'll second that! We need this Mig-17 in North Vietnamese livery done if HM decides to do a Cunningham/Driscoll "Showtime 100" 1:72nd F-4J Phantom for sure!

Re: Hawkonevoodoo, help !

I agree with the above sentiments.. The I-17 was never even a production plane..

I would suggest something more along the lines of a Yak-9 or something like that..

MiG 3!!!

Hell pilgrim! Almost any Soviet WWII prop plane but an I-17. I raised this in a previous post... I am relieved to know I am not alone in my sentiments.
