Re: HobbyMaster Double Props

Hawkvoodooone was asking folks for input a while back on on bombers and collecting lists. If I recall, the suggestions were forwarded along to Hobby Master. (Though I really shouldn't speak for him. If I'm miss remembering the details, please forgive me.)

I'm sure that Hobby Master has something up their sleeve. They had said previously that they were planning a ME-110 for sometime next year. I'm sure if that is successful (Can anyone image it not being a hit?) then we will see more bombers and twin engine planes.

As for the Tigercat, don't bet on it. There was a HUGE push here on the forum for the P-61, but folks could only come up with four different basic models. It seemed to fizzel out after Hawk came back with word from Hobby Master that if they couldn't create at least six distinct versions they wouldn't be able to recoup costs and make it worth their while. (6 different black liveries wouldn't generate the kind of sustained sales that make creating a new mould worth while.)

Keeping that in mind, I cannot imagine there were that many distinct and different liveries or models for Hobby Master to work with. I'd love to see it happen, but I wouldn't lose any sleep over it either.

Re: HobbyMaster Double Props

Before a double prop, I would like to see an A-1 Skyraider, first. Definetly six versions can be put into the mix.

I am on the fence for a C-47 - if they put a "Puff" in the mix maybe I'd buy in.

Re: HobbyMaster Double Props

An A-1 would be sweet. So would a C-47/DC-3. I would hope that the P-61 is not out of the running.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: HobbyMaster Double Props

Isn't HM and Corgi working together these days? And if so the limited number of options for the P-61 shouldn't be an issue.
Heck do three OD versions and thee black ones. I don't think folks would mind three each with different nose art, invasion stripes what have you.
And surely Corgi would keep the mold alive with countless versions of the P-61. The HM Dauntless planes didn't change much in appearence with the last release of the Operation Torch version.
But I agree a series of A-1 Skyraiders would be great in 1/72nd scale, both Navy and Air Force.

Re: HobbyMaster Double Props

Yes, I'd definitely buy a P-61, A-26, C-47 or Tigercat if HM comes out with them.
Just to throw what I think would be a neat one out there: Martin B-10 bomber (lots of colorful liveries including yellow wiings, Dutch East Indies, etc)
