Re: What F-104 color schemes would you like to see?

Sorry to take so long to reply. My computer crashed and I had to replace the motherboard and 2 HDs so I'm slowly getting back up and running.

I was wondering why you seemed to have been absent of late and there had been no recent updates on your site since 1-17. Glad to hear that you are "back up and running".

Re: What F-104 color schemes would you like to see?

I like the silver/grey Norwegian Air Force birds.

Harry's Lockheed F-104 Starfighter Site. History, Photographs and Video's of ther Plane. (Go to the photos of Starfighters in Norway).

In that gallery, take a look at the single seater in the third pic in the top row. The paint job looks too shiny to be a shade of grey, but too dull to be natural metal (the two seater next to it looks like it is actually natural metal). IIRC, this scheme was standard on the air defense Starfighters in the latter days of their service in Norway. I think that single seater would make a neat looking model.

I like the 104's in the 2nd row 5th picture. the Norwegian roundels on the white wings. I think we talked at sometime on this forum that HM just might as well do all the country's that the Starfighter flew in. But with HM only doing 2 new one this year it may be a long long time before that happens. I won't spend my money on an overpriced Witty

Kinda missed that discussion as it was before my time here. I agree though, A RNorAF bird would look great, along with all the others that flew them. I think if they did decide on the every nation/ two per year policy, it would keep them producing this jet for many years yet!

My first priority would be for a RCAF delivery version in Natural Metal finish.

However I would buy any and all of these seen here:

Re: What F-104 color schemes would you like to see?

Yeah, I'd probably still go for the last one as it's the scheme I remember those jets wearing in the 1980's. I'm not old enough to remember the silver birds, or in fact the RCAF!

I remember seeing the Silver CAF 104's in the mid 1960's at Malmstrom AFB in Great Falls MT. I also remember the pilot wouldn't let me look in the cockpit saying they all looked alike.

Re: What F-104 color schemes would you like to see?

I would like to see the following:

1) RCAF CF-104
2) Marinefleiger C-104
3) USAF (natural metal, 479th TFW images posted previously all look great)
4) Itailian AF operational scheme

I own 4 HM F-104's now (all operational schemes) and would like to see some more operational ones!

Here's some real life pics of the 479th silver birds on Hubert Putzmeier's 916 Starfighter site:
