Re: What F-104 color schemes would you like to see?

I would like to see the following:

1) RCAF CF-104
2) Marinefleiger C-104
3) USAF (natural metal, 479th TFW images posted previously all look great)
4) Itailian AF operational scheme

I own 4 HM F-104's now (all operational schemes) and would like to see some more operational ones!

I would really like to see a RCAF Delivery version circa 1962.

Nice models there muesingman, I agree it would make a nice addition to the HM 104 lineup.

Re: What F-104 color schemes would you like to see?

The thing to remember here is this model and a few others weren't Hobby Master originals, enough said.

Hawk, are you referring to the Corgi Predators partnership with HM? If so, did Corgi provide HM with models or did HM provide Corgi with models?

Hasn't anyone asked for the Starfighters scheme yet? Only F-104 I'll ever have a chance to see fly. (if they come closer--they seem to like to hang around the US/Canadian border for their shows--still waiting for the 2008 schedule to be posted)

Hey Hobby Master---think of the marketing opportunities! Hasegawa sent them some kits with their markings, but unassembled plastic model kits don't sell that well at airshows. But if people had the chance to buy a high-quality diecast model of the very planes they just saw flying overhead....

That's a real shame. I saw an Italian F-104S display a few years back and it was really something. With the service history being as it is, I'm very surprised they are allowed to fly these birds in civilian hands, the FAA are obviously a little less cautious that our own CAA coupled with the fact you guys have much more airspace to play with. That said though, I'll bet those pilots have some serious military flight hours anyway, shame there's no profiles on their website.

Re: What F-104 color schemes would you like to see?

There's a private F-4C doing the airshow circuit here too. But the maintenance is so high it doesn't fly very often. And hopefully the Sea Harrier will start going to shows.

Yes that's a serious financial commitment when the Government stops picking up the tab. I read about the Sea Harrier in Flypast magazine, that won't be a cheap operation either!

Re: What F-104 color schemes would you like to see?

I just saw the first post in this thread and noticed wish no.4.

My personal opinion: if there´s one German aircraft that I would normally not need as a diecast model then it is the F-104 of the German Marineflieger.

Reason: view below. I have made them 4 years ago, long before my interest in diecast planes started.

I might think about my point of view again if HM or would do this beauty AND donate some realistic armament instead of those boring underwing fuel tanks. Mostly the Marineflieger F-104Gs used unguided missiles (FFAR) and they were also capable of loading Mk.82, Mk.83, etc. If HM could provide us the Kormoran Air-to-Surface-Missile, this would be the greatest thing. In this case, HM, please keep in mind that the Kormoran needed a completely different underwing pylon than the fuel tanks did. @Hawkonevoodoo: if necessary, I can send You some pics which show that pylon!

Sorry to take so long to reply. My computer crashed and I had to replace the motherboard and 2 HDs so I'm slowly getting back up and running.

Please feel free to send me pictures and/or data any time. I appreciate your input.

(1) Yes
(2) The latter, based on the other party's specifications.
