Hobby Master your new love?

I did this on the old forum, but let's try it again since Hobby Master has been out for a while.

I love Hobby Master and I will be getting a lot of them, but I will pick and choose like I do with all makers

Yeah, without question, Hobby Master is producing some mighty fine models, and I'll want my fill. Thing is ... I’m not a bank, so I’ll have to pick and choose carefully. Which means, I’ll probably buy every bloody one of them.

Love these models as well. But as HobbyMaster "gets their milage" out of their molds, I won't buy the planes I don't need, want, or like.

Picked up my first one this week the Midway Dauntless, and i must say it was every bit as good as the reviews that i had been reading.
Cost is very good paid $40AUS which is comparable to the cost of dragons, and considerably cheaper than Corgi (around $60 70 mark). Also have 3 on order from FM, waiting on the release of the Mig21, to reduce the overall postage cost.
Will continue to buy them provided the quality remains high, and they continue to release castings that have not been done by other producers.

Hey ex-pat, good to see you're remaining staunch ;-)

My Hobby Master's have worked out around NZ$60 including shipping, which I consider to be good value when I look at the quality. I'll won't be buying all of their releases, but will get plenty all the same. Looking forward to an RNZAF Dauntless and Avenger coming out some time next year . At least, I'm hoping they're going to do those planes!

Thumbs up Great Planes!

I think that HM is doing a great job of selecting models that are unique and also offer the opportunity for a variety of schemes/deriviatives. I will pick and choose but I can see getting multiples of many models.

My only comment is that some of their initial schemes on the MiG-21 (Big Fish, West German AF) and some of the pending models (Olympus F-104) seem a bit odd given the number of awsome possibilities out there. My fear is that if the models don't initially do well, HM may drop or not invest in a particular mold.

My suggestions:

MiG-21: USSR (several derivatives), N. Vietnam, E. Germany, Finland, Egypt, Syria, etc....

F-104: W. German Marinefleiger, Canada, Italy, Japan, other NATO operational schemes

There goes the college fund!

I will be getting many of the HM releases, but not all of them, just mostly to fill in gaps in the collection..

I'd like an F-104 in that sweet Bavarian scheme that Armour did in 1/48.

I love that checker blue and white on the tail.

Leigh-Mallory and his big wings! Might as well stay on the ground for all the use they are!

Will get a few to fill up the gaps also, would probably purchase more if they had a pilot figure, as I display my models wheels up mostly.
