Thumbs up Someone Hobby Master or Corgi Needs to Make

The plane on the front of this site, I think it is an Crusader, that would be a cool plane to add to any jet collection.

I wish Franklin Mint would make one in 1:48.

Thumbs up Re: Someone Hobby Master or Corgi Needs to Make

I like 1/72 scale a lot better than 1/48, usually more detail not less and most of the time less joint issues, and more working parts, and less money.

Plus you sure can fit a lot more in those displays.

Re: Someone Hobby Master or Corgi Needs to Make

Not to mention Franklin Mint would most likely make a mess out of it....A great plane like the F-8 must be made - but it must be done with justice!

Re: Someone Hobby Master or Corgi Needs to Make

I'm pretty sure there's a crusader on display in the Naval Air Museum. Can't remember for sure, it's been a couple years since I've been there.

Re: Someone Hobby Master or Corgi Needs to Make

You are right. The national Museum of Naval Aviation has an F-8 Crusader on display. A very nice one at that. And I would buy one in either scale, although I do prefer 1/48.

I can take umbrage, I can take the cake, I can take the A-Train, I can take two and call me in the morning, but I cannot take this sitting down. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to take five.

Re: Someone Hobby Master or Corgi Needs to Make

This is one of those great planes that would be perfect to produce.
  • Tons of Great Liveries
  • It's a combat aircraft by almost everyones definition of the term.
  • One of the best nicknames "The Last of the Gunfighters"
  • The Blue Angels flew it.
  • The French flew it. ..........okay, I got a little ahead of myself there.
  • NASA uses it.
  • It had the best kill ration of any US aircraft in Vietnam.
  • Unique features like the variable-incidence wing.
  • And it's just damn good looking.
