Number

I'm really sorry if this has been asked and answered already, but are Hobby Master planes limited edition? If so, does Hobby Master disclose the number of copies of each model issued, and if it does, does anyone know the numbers?

Re: Number

HM are limited but not numbered. I don't believe they release the run numbers but with the Really George Hawkonevoodoo posted on this site that the entire run of 3300 has already been sold by HM so the numbers must not be a closely guarded secret.

I am sure someone else will have more information.

Re: Number

It's funny. Hawkonevoodo's comment about the 3300 limit got me thinking about it, and I realized I had no idea whether the others were limited, and/or what the production runs were like.

Re: Number

I would think it is a no to low cost benefit to a company to issue certificates with number x of xxxx. It doesn't change anything with the model but it gives a psychological boost (to me) of "Cool, I have number 152 of 2100." I know I have made the final decision on more than a few Corgi's based on the limited nature of the model.

Hobby Master wanted you to know that they made 3300 of the Really George F-104 and won't be making any more so it a definite number. I was told, years ago that with Action NASCAR limited edition only meant that they would limit the first produce to a given number but if demand was there they would do a second run and if needed a third. So unless there is a COA with the model limited edition can be misleading.

Re: Number

So are all of the other releases "finite but unbounded"?

I'm not privy to production numbers except for the one I was told about, all I know is that is how die-cast NASCAR prodction was explained to me. Whether or not it is the same for these models I have no idea.

I agree.. Adding the certificate boosts collectibility and is a nominal cost increase over a large production run.. Just because HM only made 3300 this run, doesn't meant they won't turn around and make more...
