Re: How many would like HobbyMaster to make a P-61 Black Widow

If HM will make the 'Black Widow'...let it be the nose art pictured on the lower left corner. I really like Milton Caniff's "Miss Lace" theme like the Corgi's BOL B-17 nose art!

Hey flyXwire,
What issue of Air Classics is that?

I like any of those pin ups on that page. Some of those artists that painted those on the aircraft were really talented.

I voted yes, but I would have preferred to vote "maybe." Depends upon the price, and my feeble finances!

If the latest addition to the Udvar-Hazy (Smithstonian) museum is good enough for them it should certainly qualify for a spot on the Hobby Master roster. The P-61 was an incrediable aircraft and deserves top billing for its role in winning the air wars in both Europe and te Pacific.

I'll take two Mr. Hobby Master.

Went to my pop's house and took a picture of the Blackwidow i built about 8yrs ago for him.It is a 1/48 scale kit."Times a Wastin" this is the highest scoring P-61 ace during WWII.

Very, very nice job Starman. It looks fantastic. Once again, I can see why I abandoned building my own models - guys like you raise my expectations too high! Nicely done.

No offense to all you Black Widow fans out there, but that is one right ugly bird. That's not a fighter, that's a space station!

Re: How many would like HobbyMaster to make a P-61 Black Widow

The noseart of US aircraft put those of their Allies (as well as the Axis) to shame.

Does anyone know why US airmen were more artistically innovative (in the popular art sense) than other airforces - was it 'rules' or 'culture' that had the most influence?
