A little trivia; The black P-61 was painted GLOSS black because it was found through tests that it was harder to pick up in search lights than flat black!

I cant help but wonder what it was like in the cockpit when the FIRE button was pressed. It must have been an awesome noise. At night it must have been spectacular!!!!!!!!!

oh yeah definitley...and with the recent roll out of the smithsonian p-61 and MAAM's ongoing flying restoration project, the timing is right for it as well!! here's a few favs, although honestly, there isn't one that i wouldn't buy, esp. in 1/72nd scale.

how bout this one? always loved this nose art:

this plane was flown by bob bolinder, who every year is at the reading wwii weekend. he is a great guy, and has some great stories. would be a nice simple version to do:

Seeing that Art print just makes me think how that felt being the pilot and watching all them tracers at night and feeling that firepower
