4 new releases for November

I will be purchasing the Dutch Centurion and the whitewashed M10.

I certainly hope the whitewash works out! I don't believe they've tried one on any of their AFVs yet...

A pass for me on all 4. Where the hell are my Israeli and South African Centurions?

Re: 4 new releases for November

I wish the 773rd M10 had the 'duckbill' counterweight...I hope the final diecast does. (And we know they have it because they put it on their Achilles...So, no excuses!)

I'm also interested in the final paint effect. HM has done winter whitewash before on models "HG3004 - Russian KV-2, Kalinin Front, Russia 1942" and "HG3103 - Cromwell Mk.IV, King's Own Hussars, 7th Armoured Division, "Operation Blackcock", Jan. 1945," but the 773rd's vehicles were not uniformly whitewashed. Lines of olive drab were left to represent trees. I hope the finished product actually has the vertical streaks, making the model both accurate and sexy. *fingers crossed*

(BTW HM, if you have an M36 in the works, please, pretty please...with cherry on top, don't call it a "Jackson". I wouldn't want to have to scratch the mythical name off the base.)

Easy man. How about some patience? The Centurion was just released a couple of months ago for crying out loud.

Thanks for the heads up, Chairman. I'll be getting the Centurions too but will see how the whitewashed M10 turns out first.

Re: 4 new releases for November

While looking like the earlier type at first glance, when I reexamined the shape of the turret and counterweight it looked like it was in fact the late “duckbill” type…But the duckbill overhang part has been clipped off the illustration. I’m not sure what that means…

Anyway, here’s a good representation of what the finish should look like:

I wonder why HM deleted the grouser stowage racks?

Speaking of Israel Centurions one of my friends and retired Canadian peacekeeper said he watched 3 Centurions take on 3 brigades of Egyptian T-62's and win. I'd love to pick up one of those Centurions!

That is an overblown estimation, but I believe that during Yom Kippur war the kill ratio in armor vs. armor engagements was 12:1 in favor of Israelis. Most of the accounts of the opening hours of the war on the Syrian front indicate that few in number Israeli crews didn't have to take aim to hit something.

Furthermore, the skill of IDF tankers manifested itself during night fighting when Isreali Centurions, Super Shermans, and captured T-55s from the Six Day War inflicted heavy casulaties on Syrian armor during night fighting relying on flares only, unlike Syrians, whose T-62s and most of T-55s had night vision equipment.

Regards,

Sergey

Re: 4 new releases for November

I like the whitewashed M-10 but the rest of the M-10s are boring. How about a Bumbar!
