Re: HM new releases 1.72

Looks like all of the original concerns I voiced about the M10 have been addressed. When preview pics first went up on the site I grumbled about the name “Wolverine” being used but it’s nowhere to found on the M10 page anymore. I inquired about the “duck bill” counterweight on liveries they selected, but it’s been changed to the earlier type. Most importantly, I wanted to see grouser stowage racks on the sides of the hull, as they were present on most M10s in the ETO, so I’m THRILLED to see them added to the M10! That's outstanding!

My only concern is the track…It needs help. It looks like it falls completely between the drive sprockets, which looks mighty strange. (Throws the look of the whole model off.) They need to be wider (or the drive sprocket needs to be narrower) so that the track end connectors rest in the recesses of the teeth on the sprockets. As is pictured, the vehicle would be immobile! I’m hoping against hope that it’s only a problem peculiar to the proto model, because it really needs to be fixed...

Other than that, I’m really happy. Looks like we get a nice turret interior.

I agree, the tracks are either too narrow or the drive sprocket is too large. I mentioned it to Hawk, maybe its too late for the first M-10. Hopefully the Achilles will be corrected. I'm holding out for the Duckbilled turret. But the Achilles is worth a look as the Guards did come to the aid of the 82nd ABN in Nijmegan.

Re: HM new releases 1.72

Yep, was thinking exactly that when I 1st saw those pix.........

That M.10 looks FANTASTIC !!!!!!!!! (I don't collect die-cast armour, but that's just SO Tempting !!!!!!!!)

......... An 'Achilles' (or M.36 Jackson) to follow ?

You have to be carefull doing the M36 as it had a different engine and rear deck than the diesel M-10. But if they do a M36 on that revised hull, I'd also want a M36B1 (M 36 TD turret on the M4A3 hull).

http://www.onwar.com/tanks/usa/plans/tdm10.gif looking at the plans of the overhead view on this link and the overhead view of the Hobby Master tank http://www.hobbymastercollector.com/...G3401-5950.jpg the gun looks pretty close to the correct length. These are pre-production pictures, prior to any fine tuning.

The gun does look a little skinny, especially at the base of the mantlet.

I'm with you Elmer. All the new Hobby Master releases look yummie, but that Dauntless is going to be killer.

Anything for a weird life.

Re: HM new releases 1.72

I think that HM does an excellent job with their 1/72nd scale and 1/48th scale armor!! Now lets see if they venture into 1/32nd scale armor.......

Looking forward to annoying the 'former' Florida Diecast Forum members!!

No, no Theodore !!! That would mean that they would follow the same path as Dragon and start to ignore us 1.72 fans !!
