Hobbymaster 1:48 JS-2 - Some Pics

Unfortunately Tankzone in the UK sent me the Chinese 1952 JS-2 instead of the Russian WWII version I ordered, but as there is very little difference other than the paint job i'll hang on to this one. I found the turret MG very fiddly to fit and the holes on the MG had to be modified slightly to get a snug fit onto mounting lugs. Feels much lighter than my smaller Corgi 1:50 T-34/76 diecast so I think the metal content cannot be very high. Generally good crisp details though and I quite like this one.

Good looking tank, almost tempted to pick one up.

Yeah, I'm definitely interested in the 1/48 tank range as my diecast a/c are 1/48. I'm going to a diecast show Sunday and I'm ready to load up the car.

Re: Hobbymaster 1:48 JS-2 - Some Pics

What a coincidence. The retailer, I've ordered JS-2 from also sent me a PLA one insted of the Soviet scheme, ...and I was mightily pissed. Trust me, the "Polar Bears" JS-2 is the most historically significant version of JS-2 that could be made. Needless to say that vendor got an earful and now the #414 is parked in my house.

Regards,

Sergey

Yeah, I'd be mad too. I'm glad I got the right one (the "Combat Friends" Soviet Army, Berlin 1945), as you're absolutely right about the historical significance. That's a big factor for me.

Strange but I was sent the Chinese one, also. Vendor also replaced it with the correct Soviet model but odd how that happened to three of us.

Marketing people call this "Bait and Switch."

Although I am loving the Chinese grey color...
