M26 Pershing pictures!!!

The hobbymastercollector web has also published pictures of the upcoming M26 Pershing by HM. Wow, it looks like a very, very good model of this tank (a late version according to the squared off blower housing at the bow centre).

This is the link: http://www.hobbymastercollector.com/...nchon1950.html

The only thing that looks wrong to my eye is the upward curve at the rear track guard/fender, which the photographs in my sources do not show - what do you think? (Again, hawkonevoodoo, please, would you persuade HM to fix this?) Otherwise the model looks extremely accurate, and I can't wait to have one on my shelves.

I sent them a couple of side views of M26's and circled the rear fender in a picture of the model. I told them the upward curved fenders shouldn't be like that. I'm just waiting for a response to see if it is too late to change this release and if it is hopefully it will be corrected on the next release. It went directly to the head design engineer.

Thanks again for your mediation, hawkonevoodoo! I don't know about the other members, but I find that having an open communications/feedback link with a first-rate manufacturer is something extremely important, and thus far unavailable - this is a real luxury for us all armour collectors, and I really appreciate it.

Re: M26 Pershing pictures!!!

Pictures for the WWII Pershing are up here. Unfortunately it looks like the weird raised fenders are here to stay. It also has the later production 'square' blower housing in the bow casting, intead of the earlier rounded one. I'm not sure about those tracks either, I think they should be the T81 type shown on their Marine vehicle. (Although, the later chevron track type used a different drive sprocket...Which looks like it may be the type on the HM Pershing...) Don't need to worry about the early or late gun travel lock because it doesn't have one! We'll just have to wait and see what the final product looks like.
