Re: Best scale for Hobby Master armour range

I'll also vote for 1/72 scale. That way you can have targets for your WW2 planes that were meant to be 'tankbusters'. I've never been into the diecast tanks (just the WW2 1/72 planes), but a couple o' weeks ago I decided I needed targets for my tankbuster planes. My purchases were :

1.) An Admiral Toys German Panzer III for my Corgi Hawker Hurricane MkIID.

2.) A Dragon Russian T-34 (Moscow, 1942) for my IXO Henschel Hs 129.

3.) A Dragon Russian T-34 (Poland, 1944) for my HobbyMaster Hans Rudel Stuka.

4.) A Dragon Hummel (Eastern Front, 1944) for my IXO Il-2 Sturmovik.

5.) A Dragon King Tiger (France, 1944) for my IXO Hawker Typhoon.

I got the Admiral Toys Panzer last week and its very nice. The Dragon tanks are supposed to arrive today. I can hardly wait. If they're as great as the pictures show, I may end up getting a small group of other tanks in 1/72 just for the heckuvit - a Sherman or two, a halftrack, a Tiger, A British tank or two, etc. Plus I stll may need a target for my IXO Il-10. Say, a Tiger ... Germany ... 1945?

I'd love to see HobbyMaster's versions in 1/72 - hopefully as great as their 1/72 planes.

P.S. - WOW! Not 5 minutes after I typed in this post my tanks arrived! The dragon tanks are beautiful! Just as good as I'd hoped. So I'll probably get a few more eventually. Unfortunately, I goofed on my T-34 Tank (Poland, 1944). I didn't look close enough or read the info. good enough - it is a German captured version. Fortunately, this will work as a target as for my IXO Il-10! So now I'm back to needing one more tank for my HobbyMaster Rudel Stuka. I picked the Dragon T-34 ("Red 37", Ukraine, December 1943). This should do nicely.

Now I'm stoked! Gotta go check out the only hobby store in town that carries dragon armor. Can't wait to see HobbyMaster's armor!

Re: Best scale for Hobby Master armour range

1/35th scale. Is that allowed? I build the bigger ones, and if they are pre-made/painted and look good. I'm up for it.

1/48 for me to go with my Verem/Stretton 1/50 French, Soviet and German MBT's, and Schuco 1/43 French and German stuff.

By the way, who else is in Solido/Verem, Schuco or Replex ? (I used to collect Replex and Solido modern French military stuff too, but sold all of them !)

Re: Best scale for Hobby Master armour range

I say stick to the standards of 1/72nd and 1/35th, and release each item in both. The 1/56th models are nice, but I like a little more continuity in my armor than I do my aircraft.

I've got plenty of them, including modern French military. See pictures under FormerViperDriver collection thread.

Re: Best scale for Hobby Master armour range

I'd definitely go for 1/72. Most of my aircraft and small tank collection is in 1/72. Other scales are more the exception rather than the rule.
