Pappy, I hate ur photos. Because everytime when i see them, i always want to buy them immediately.
So i consider between 1:72 and 1:200. I'm new aircraft collector and one fan of the modern jets. I only want to focus 1:72 scale series.
But now after read this post and see Pappy photos, I'm wavering between 1:72 and 1:200. With 1:72 i got some big and details models, but difficult to find the place show them. With 1:200 i can save a bit money and can have easy way to display, especially after i see some 1:200 model with hangar and flight crew.
Should i sell every 1:72 model and replace by new 1:200 series???? Wish i got enough money as much as i want....

Believe it or not, it's just posterboard from your friendly neighborhood kinkos -- I'd like to try a mirrored surface one of these days....

I use a photo tent (bogen's ephotomaker), and a 500 watt tungsten lamp.

My camera: Nikon D200 and before that a D50 so the pics are from one or the other on the site, all new updates are from the D200.

I have a Nikon 18-200mm VR lens. I shoot mostly in AP mode at F16 with custom white balance. Everything is hand held.

Win_arc -- hard to say as only you know your space and $ limits. There is not nearly as much to choose from yet in 1:200 so you will be very limited if you focus on that scale, no Su-34s yet, for example

I would never recommend sticking hard to one scale -- though many do -- as I just feel that limits you. You might want to consider 1:200 for jets you like and 1:72 for jets that you really, really like and are only availlable in 1:72??

And don't think that 1:200 is necessarily cheaper -- many have MSRPs that are right up there with 1:72 prices if not more

But that series of 1:200 Flankers that is out now is simply really, really... really Pic one up and see for yourself first hand and go from there (don't sell those new gaincorps yet!).

Thanks PappyB, u and ur photos always like the navigator for me. I've just determine that i still stick me with 1:72 serial. I think i can make the hangar by myself looks like in the 1:200 pics above and maybe use one room for showing them.... And hope i'll show the pics of them soon.
I've just order one Hogan Su27 Vietnam follow ur recommend, because i from Vietnam so simply i want it...

Yeah, my photo-hosting site went through an "upgrade" and this feature is broken now, far as I can tell -- I'll try to post them on my site this week. But I can't go back and fix all these now-defunct hotlinks, unfortunately.
