King & Country King Tiger - Mid-October Release

K&C is planning a mid-October release of the King Tiger (Henschel). Compared with recent releases like the "Classic" M4 Sherman, M24 Chaffee and the M10 TD, I think K&C has overdone the weathering and finishing this time. To me at least, looking at the pics, the battle worn look is rather over the top. I'll be giving this one a miss.

How many King Tigers, Jagdtigers, etc do we need? The versions out now are almost the total that were used in WWII. How about a Bumbar or a Panzer I for pete's sake. A 88mm flak in 1/72, now your talking!

Bumbar??

Do you mean Sturmpanzer IV Brummbär (Sturmpanzer 43) (Sdkfz 166) ?

The Heuschrecke would make for an interesting looking piece.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

I agree! Or a Marder, Flakpanzer, Wirbelwind or a Hetzer would be most welcomed also!

If you go for a Wirbelwind, Ostwind would be a pretty neat one too.

My sentiments exactly. I hope K&C folks are reading this. We need some variety. I don't mind paying a premium for a Tiger or King Tiger if it's well made, but I'll put my money in an Ostwind or a Flakpanzer if there is one in the market.

I doubt they read this forum but Andy Nielsen, owner/founder/creative director, of King & Country regularly participates on the toy soldier forums such as this one: Treefrog Treasures Toy Soldier Forums - Powered by vBulletin

If, however, you are hoping to dissuade them from producing more King Tigers you will probably be in the minority. This particular model has been very well received - especially by those who were able to see it in person in Chicago this past weekend. Andy has mentioned on the forum a few times that they make items based on different criteria two of which being what sells and what he wants to make for himself. They have produced several rather unique vehicles in the past: M5 High Speed Tractor, Grille SP Gun, Hetzer, Raupen Schlepper, M3 Lee and Gephard Flack Panzer 38 to name a few. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

As to your suggestion for the Ostwind I would love to pick up one of those if it were made. My only concern would be is how well it would hold up in shipping if made from polystone.
