The Collectors' Showcase

Was wondering if anybody owns any products from Collectors' Showcase. I am thinking of purchasing the SdfKz 222. I think it's in diecast metal in 1:30 scale (60mm) and comes with one figure. Limited to only 300 copies worldwide. The Arnhem camo paint scheme and finishing touches look excellent. Since I missed out on the K&C SdfKz 222 before it was retired, I was quite reluctant to let this one go. But at US$119.00 (excl. shipping and handling), I thought perhaps I should seek some opinions and comments from fellow forummers before I pull the trigger.

Re: The Collectors' Showcase

I have several hitler jugend figures of them, and they are really nice. Very good detail, but a little pricy!

Yeah, those are really nicely detailed. I did consider the set of 3 marching figures and the one containing the flag bearer, but realised that the two costs about the same price as the SdfKz 222 armoured car.

Re: The Collectors' Showcase

They're nice but not for everyone. The originals were slightly larger than K&C's toy soldiers but their second round of figures/vehicles is 1/30 including SdfKz 222 you have pictured. SC had initial problems with paint details (as well as the size issue which SC listed as 1/32 originally) but, from what I've heard, has since resolved.

Even with the first run issues, I liked them and they go good with my FM Abrams and Sherman (1/24 scale). Here's a picture of their 3rd ID figures from their first production run (along with the FM M1A2 Abrams).

Re: The Collectors' Showcase

Besides the SdfKz 222, I am also thinking of getting the Marder IIIM. Also in 1:30 scale and from the Collectors' Showcase Arnhem range. Costs US$139.90 but comes with 2 figures. Makes an excellent complement to the SdfKz 222.

There's also the Pzkpfw I. At US$159.90, this one's really pricey. But I am sucker for German panzers, especially the earlier models, i.e. Panzer I to III.

Between these two, I am still not sure which one I should get.

Sigh! So many nice armour models, so little money.

Re: The Collectors' Showcase

The Marder III looks like a real keeper! That would be a hard one to pass up on.

Brewster Buffalo, Hawk 75A, Fokker D.XXI, Polikarpov I-16, Fiat G.50, Macchi C. 200, PZL P.11c, Fieseler Fi 156 Storch ,,,, now those are real planes.

It ain't easy my friend. The mind is willing but the wallet is empty, and I still have a long wish list from other diecast brands....
