Question IXO armour for sale ? information ...

Hello guys... I am looking for IXO armor but I cannot find any sources.... Can anyone provide any websites or sources of sale or information...

Do any of you have these models in your collection... If so, how do you describe their qualities... are they a must have?

I know that there are very many different releases in Spain....

Thank You for any information

I bought one to size up this series. It's the Somua S 35 and, frankly, I'm not impressed. The paint scheme is applied over the extra gas containers that are included in the mold and the insignias are placed improperly. The worst feature is the tracks which are rubber band-like and keep coming off the model. This has all of the hallmarks of the made -on -the -cheap publisher's promotional models in the IXO/ Atlas/ Altaya tradition of the last five or six years. Here's a picture:

Re: IXO armour for sale ? information ...

I have a rule about IXO tanks. I only buy the ones to fill holes in my collection. The Puma, IS-2, Crusader, and S35 are examples of this. They aren't bad to fill holes, but otherwise they don't stack up well against the Hobby Master, Dragon, or even the Admiral or 1/72 Forces of Valor.

Re: IXO armour for sale ? information ...

I am now in Geneva, Swizterland on a work trip. Just returned from a visit to one of them local hobby shops. Saw several IXO models on display, including those I would like to add to my collection....Merkava III, T-80, Flakpanzer Gepard, Crusader II and Matilda MkII. However, I have to echo what has already been said in this thread. To me, it is crudely made and not meant for the serious armour collector. If you are still keen, you can try the Altaya website at Editions Altaya · Le site de la collection · Miniatures en métal, Figurines en plomb, Objets à collectionner, Maisons de poupées, Radiocommandes, DVD or Ediciones Altaya · La web del coleccionista · Miniaturas de metal, Scalextric, Soldados de Plomo, Casas de Muñecas, Radiocontrol, Libros, DVD, Música. They have the whole series listed with pics and you can order directly on-line.

Alot of information here... Military Diecast 1/72 - Altaya

A review/comparison between Altaya and Dragon Armor... Military Diecast 1/72 - Review 1

They're available in most of Europe now and should be in North America at some point. You can usually find them on Ebay using the search phrase "1/72 altaya" or something similar. Excellent assortment of tanks available but the detail is not so great.

The Solido one looks better.
