King & Country Olive Drab M24 "Chaffee" (DD092)

Hello all,

Promised everyone in an earlier thread that I will post pics of the K&C Olive Drab M24 "Chaffee" Light Tank. Got a call from the local K&C distributor yesterday and immediately scrambled down to the shop to get it. For me, it has been a long wait as the M24 only reached Singapore's shores on Friday, well over a month after its release. But what the heck, looking at the model, the wait was worth it.

The model came with 3 figures, all removable. Consistent with the high quality of earlier K&C products, the paintwork and finishing were excellent. Weathering touches were done just right. The retailer initially quoted me S$220 (approx. US$170) when I placed the order. Turned out that it only cost me S$176 (approx. US$135). The model is heavy, considering that it was made out of a mixture of resin and crushed stone. For forummers new to K&C, their products are in 1:30 scale.

Overall, a job well done by K&C. In fact, I have never been disappointed by any of my K&C purchases. Let's hope they can churn out more AFVs in the months to come.

Great looking model you picked up. It is nicely detailed.

Yeah, the details are what I like about K&C. I like the fact that their models are made with the battle-worn look, with all the crew's personal belongings, stores and other paraphernalia attached to the vehicles, and nicely balanced with the right dosage of weathering. The crews are also very well-made, especially the facial expressions and uniform details. Of course, all these carry a premium, as reflected in the prices of K&C products. Personally, I find that the prices are still reasonable considering K&C's quality.

I'm currently eyeing the K&C Classic Sherman (DD093). Think it will go nicely with the OD M24. It's scheduled for release in mid-May though. But high on my wish list is a K&C M3 half-track. Better still if it is a 0.5 cal MGMC or a 75mm GMC variant. That would be a perfect complement to the M24 and K&C's US army D-Day figures.

Just saw from the K&C website that the M24 Chafee is "being retired". Strange since the model was only released in March this year.

Nope, none at all. The whole model is cast in a composite mixture of crushed stone and resin.
The 3 figures that come with the tank are removable though.

Looking at the astronomical prices of retired K&C models, I might consider snapping up a few of these before they fly off the shelves.

Yeah, I really liked it very much. The details are quite amazing...and looks good either as a stand alone showcase model or part of a diorama too!
I'm really looking forward to more armour releases by K&C!
