Calling All Fans of M10 Wolverine Tank Destroyer!!

Howdy all,

Just received my Tamiya 1:48 M10 Wolverine Tank Destroyer on Friday. Got it off a Hong Kong-based website together with a couple of 1:48 Tigers and an 1:35 M1A2. Woohoo!! Just simply loved it! Cost me just US$45 excl.shipping. I suppose it's a bargain? Can't seem to find it cheaper anywhere else.

Anyway, here are the pictures....The amount of details will astound any collector!

Check out the ammo, seats and other details in the turret....

Just in case you are wondering, the little red in the picture on the left is a fire extinguisher (I think). Check out the gun breech and the gunsight in the picture on the right. Amazing details!

I just loved Tamiya's pre-built tanks. Never mind if it is all plastic...The guys at Tamiya really know their stuff!

Looks great, only one real boo boo on the Big T's part. That nub above the right headlight didn't come with M-10s until the later turret was introduced. And noone can pin down where the term Wolverine came from, but it was never used officially or un-officially during the war. Same with the M-36 Jackson title.

It is very nice.. I picked up a Tamiya Masterworks 1/48 Panther, it is a really nice piece and was reasonably priced too!!

Wow! Thanks for the info. I never quite wondered why it was called Wolverine to begin with. Anyway, I suppose I can live with the hub above the right headlight boo boo. The details and finishing more than compensate for that

Don't worry about that hull detail. Most folks don't even know when it came into play and why. Its a great model that I've thought about building myself. Good to see they added details to the turret, their acient kit was bare in there.

Nice looking tank destroyer!! I have Solido's, 1/50th scale, M-10 and it weighs a ton!! I thought that Tamiya Masterworks' hull was diecast, but their turret and main gun were plastic.....

Looking forward to annoying the 'former' Florida Diecast Forum members!!

Yeah, I see what you mean. Some collectors find plastic parts in Tamiya's pre-built tanks a major let down. Well, I don't mind it so much actually. I tend to focus more on the finishing touches and the look.

Who sells these Tamiya's pre-built tanks? They look mighty nice.

I'll guess and say Squadron Mailorder probably does. I've not looked in that scale because I'd rather build and paint my own.

Yep, Squadron shows one in their 2008 catalog. A Sturmgeschutz III, assembled and painted with metal tracks. At $199.00, that is just a little too pricey for me.
