| Targa 1/48 Scale Tiger I Fellow forummer Ken91 had earlier asked for opinions of Targa's 1/48 Tiger I in another thread. Here are pictures of my German grey Tiger I... Interior detailing are generally passable. Overall, a good effort from the manufacturer. Some parts of the turret interior's paintwork could have been better. Notice the uneven painting around the edges of the turret, especially on the commander/gunner side. It's quite obvious on the actual model. ![]() Rear shot of the model. Notice the discernible "plastic look" of the red fuel tanks, but the painting on the 88mm ammo stowage is quite nicely done. ![]() I'm not sure if you can see the painting of the crew members. Has a funny dark grey "wash" on their uniforms, which looks weird. The tracks are nicely done though, if a little hard to put on. ![]() Here's a pic with the turret removed.... ![]() And here's one of the turret.... ![]() Paladin | |||||||||||||

| Re: Targa 1/48 Scale Tiger I Thank you for those informative pics. I can see all the things you pointed out. Well, this is something for me to keep in mind. I'd probably get a Trumpeter R/C tank before one of these though. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Targa 1/48 Scale Tiger I Is this a kit, or does it come basically intact? I would love to have a Tiger I which shows detailed interior, but I do not want a kit. Anything else available like this? | |||||||||||||

This is from a "candy toy" assortment. Very similar to the bubblegum packs I used to collect as a kid, but these are in boxes rather than wrapped packs and when buying the individual boxes, you get parts to build the model. In most cases on Ebay, the retailers have already opened the boxes and put together full sets to build a complete piece.

Another forumite who validates my theory that armor has better detail, quality and accuracy, in general, than aircraft!! Hey, I'm just playin' here!! Nice tank and excellent detail!! I like the idea that you can see exactly where each tank crewmember sits and how little room the loader has with the breech of that massive 88!!

Here are the ebay listings, which show all the details. No gluing or painting, apparently, just seven or so snap-together pieces. I dunno, for $50, I can probably live without it.

| Re: Targa 1/48 Scale Tiger I Does anyone carry these in the U.S.? I would buy one if the shipping wasn't so high. I think it is a great idea. | |||||||||||||
