Who else doesn't like desert paintschemes? What's with all the modern tanks, like the M-1, in their various desert camo? I don't like the few that have European camo with the KFOR labels either. I don't like anything having to do with any of these current political conflicts, whether it's the Balkans or anything having to do with the near-east (mistakenly referred to as the middle east).

Is there even a decent M-1 available, in European camo without KFOR labels and/or mine clearing equipment?

Another thing I don't like is the add-on armor on many of the M-60 models.

And where are the Russian helicopters? There is no decent model of the Mi-24 Hind, or any other Russian helicopters that I know of. I think a Hind model would sell. I know there's a cheapie by some company, but that's just a toy.

Question: A few years ago there was a model of a French nuclear missile carrier. The name was "Pluton" something or other. Is this still available somewhere?

There is a Dragon M1A1 that is representing 2-70 AR in OIF that has the woodland camo. See the woodland camo Abrams in this picture. It was available through the OIF series released by Dragon. Other than this particular Abrams, the other woodland camo Abrams have IFOR or KFOR on them.



FOV made a 1/32 of that vehicle while Dragon made a 1/72 of it.

Revell makes a decent 1/72 M-60 kit that you can make w/o ERA pieces. Hopefully HM will make a diecast out of the M-48 and M-60 series in the future. And hopefully HM will get us a 1/72 Hind someday.

Shawn, give it time. Somebody somewhere is probably developing a ACU pattern for vehicles. It would be nice to see a 72nd AR M1A1 put out by Dragon.

Why bother if MULTICAM is around the corner. For Christ's sake, the boy playing in his MARPAT unifrom blends in better with the Georgia woods than his ACUs.

What's there to "get"? I simply stated that these political conflicts don't interest me, hence the models don't interest me. I just gave a reason for my preferences. I don't know what this has to do with Democrats and Republicans.

Thanks, but could you repeat that in plain English? I'm sort of a newcomer at this. 2-70 AR? OIF?

I know that OIF is Operation: Iraqi Freedom.

I believe AR means Armored Regiment, and the preceding numbers are for the battalion and regiment, so 2-70 AR would be 2nd Battalion of the 70th Armored Regiment. I think that's it, but welcome correction if I am in error.
