| Identify early 1970s diecast? Back in the early 1970s I had a black and white model catalog of plastic and diecast - it must have been around 1973 or 1974 because I remember I was in junior high school... Anyway, in the catalog were a series of Egyptian tanks and tank destroyers - I don't remember the tanks but I do recall the Soviet tank destroyers, etc., and they had Arabic slogans painted on the sides of the vehicles. This was after the Six Day War and right around the time of the Yom Kippur war. Does anyone ever remember seeing diecast models like these/manufacturer/etc? I have looked around on the internet but I haven't seen anything. A really unusual offering. Thanks if anyone can help. | |||||||||||||

| Re: Identify early 1970s diecast? Check a website called Mike's Tanks. It's as close to a definitive armor website as there is. | |||||||||||||

Yes, thanks for responding. Actually I lurked on this board for about 3 months trying to find information, and Mike's Tanks was one of the resources I located through this board. I looked there and everywhere else I could find before finally registering and posting a request for help in this forum. | ||||||||||||||

| Re: Identify early 1970s diecast? gyuunyuu, Good luck with the hunt, I wish I could tell you more. You might try dropping Mike a line? (I presume there is a contact on his site somewhere.) I ended up finding some stuff on his website that I was looking for from when I was a wee-lad that he had listed under it's more common and recent reissue. Once I figured out where it was, there was a full listing of the stuff I had way back when. | |||||||||||||
