Armour Armor Any Good?

I have Panzer, Panther, and Sherman 1/72 scale Tanks from Armour produced back in 1997. Are these well regarded? How do they compare to the new releases from HM and Dragon?

These are the CDC tanks, and they are very good. They are almost all metal, and have been discontinued since 1998 - 99. I have ca. 50 of them. They are not as detailed as Dragons, but they are all metal, with very good detail. Hold on to these. The first few years after they were discontinued, they were commanding pretty good money. The Panthers anywhere from $75.00 - $200.00, sometimes higher. The Armour CDC tanks are the only all metal tanks out there. I doubt anything like them will ever be made, esp. since Dragon and Hobby Master are making great models. These days, plastic is the choice of model companies. Several of the Shermans have been showing up on ebay, recently. If you would like a little background on the CDC tanks, check out Mikestanks.com, as well as diecast72.com. Happy Collecting! Which models do you have? Some of the Panzer IVs are hard to find.

Re: Armour Armor Any Good?

Thanks for the info. Copland! I wish I had more than 5 of these in light of what you said. Dragon looks like they copied the display case packaging of C.D.C. too. Were the early Dragon Tigers mostly metal like C.D.C.?

Re: Armour Armor Any Good?

The early Dragon Tigers had more metal than now, but still not near the metal content of the CDC tanks. The display case is almost identical, except the CDC tanks have the model name and number on the front of the case, which I really like. Also, for your info., the CDC tanks originally sold for $24.95.
