| Whoops! Just found the previous thread which discusses this very topic... Just wondering if anyone else in the 'Hangar collects these little tanks and halftracks? I've purchased a few through www.ebay.es, and have found them well worthwhile (though shipping costs to NZ is a bugger). In particular, I can't see any other other players making an Italian M13/40, or matching desert war Matilda II, anytime soon! The following link is to a detailed list - with extensive photos - of the while 50 model series, both WW2 and Post WW2 designs: http://mad-dog-kit.tripod.com/altaya.htm Bear in mind that the large size of the pix on this site can overstate the little flaws and some soft moulding detail - we're talking braille scale, after all... I note that Hobby Master is now making Cromwell and KV-1 models, and perhaps Dragon may come out with a Puma armoured car in future? | |||||||||||||

| Re: 1/72 Altaya tanks I think they lack the fine detail and crispness of say Dragon or Hobby Master, but they do make some very interesting pieces that I doubt anyone else will do for some time. | |||||||||||||

| Re: 1/72 Altaya tanks yep, I've a few too, Famo,M13/40, Somua S35,Matilda, Crusader 2, LVT(A)-1 and the Sd.Kfz. 7/2..........if anyone has the trailer for the Famo out there and wants to sell or swap, send me a e-mail. They are a nice change from the Dragon and easy models, and yes they can be difficult to get hold off, I too ended up getting them imported from Spain. I will prop end up buying the Puma too, but I have a couple of 1:72 built plastic kits that will do in the mean time. | |||||||||||||
