Unhappy Re: Altaya Centurion

Cool Legio. Thanks for posting. Where can I get one? I just can't seem to get hold of any Altaya tanks.

Re: Altaya Centurion

Where did they get the livery for that one?

Looking at it, I reckon that's one very good question!

Re: Altaya Centurion

If there were Centurions in the U.S. Army, then that's news to me. I will contend that it is possible that one was purchased for testing, but that's an odd livery to choose from for a production run.

True enough Cav. Just looking at the side profile makes the new Minichamps Centurion look a little inaccurate with the space between the 6th road wheel and the side skirt don't you think? Been looking at pics of the Centurion and that Minichamps one keeps bothering me.

I believe this is from the Korean War. As with WW2, the UN forces used the star as a universal ID mark.

With the success for the Cent as the ultimate 50's tank, I think the US should have bought it. It certainly beat anything in the US inventory at the time.

Ooops!

Unless you're in Europe, then Ebay is the only place for the moment. I've seen several Altaya tanks available through Ebay lately too.

You could on the money timbo.
According to my Father, the British Army centurions in Germany at the time of the Korean war had very little in the way of markings usually small orange/red squares with the regiment id (eg 5RTR) on the front mudguard.
