Do you know anything about DeAgostini brand models?

I came across this image when I was looking online for Gaincorp models. I have to say that these look pretty interesting. If you own, or know anything about, these models please post here. I would really like to get some background on these.

Re: Do you know anything about DeAgostini brand models?

This appears to be the same model that also bears the Schuco brand. See

Schuco :: Produkt Details

In Japan it also appears to be released under the Doyusha brand. Although out of stock, Hobby Link Japan still shows this item under that brand.

They're 1:43rd scale.

Thank you KG_Jag!!

I'm unfamiliar with Schuco products, but they look outstanding. Are you personally familiar with them? If so, what's your impression?

Re: Do you know anything about DeAgostini brand models?

Dear Gavin and Mike,

these models show up in various guises in Europe. The DeAgostini versions were probably given with a magazine as part of a " Part Series" work. i.e. you bought a magazine+model and subscribed to 40 more! DeAgostini has produced Part Works on : planes ( 1.100 scale); Napoleonic Figures( 1.32 scale) etc.......)

The M3 Motor gun Carriage is 1.43 scale. I have seen these models in Model/Hobby shops in the U.K. I think that Unimax markets them here. You can get an Opel Blitz, Hannomag, Panhard 178 and many more. They are fully diecast and quite pleasant models. They tend to have a toy-like appearance ( lack of weathering )

I have one which I bought abroad, in Belgium. A Panhard 178, in German markings. it was marketed as " Military Series, Minaturmodelle, 1:43 "

The box is marked : " Produced and Licensed by Grania & Partners Spa Italy; Distributed by Dickie-Schuco Gmbh & Co KG "

Schuco is a well known distributer of die-cast models in 1.87, 1.72, and 1.43 scales.

Here are a few I found on ebay U.K. They sell for about $17 to $19 here.
If you check out ebay in the U.K. then World-wide, you'll get an idea of the range and prices. They are very well made and represent good value for money. Pity about the scale!

Re: Do you know anything about DeAgostini brand models?

Admin--just saw your question.

Yes, I have the model you have posted and several others (German SK 251/1 and Italian armored cars). I am impressed with this line. Unfortunately, they have only limited US distribution. I know of only two or three on-line vendors who carry the Schuco military line and even they don't yet offer the full line.

Re: Do you know anything about DeAgostini brand models?

Dear Gavin and Mike,

here are a few more pics of what's available from Schuco's 1.43 Military Range. I threw in a few pics of their 1.43 Land Rover Defenders to mix it up ( I'm not sure if they are part of the range but, what the hell, they're the same scale!

As you can see, plenty of Panhards, various Italian jobs, and even a Stuka Zu Fuss, 251 at the bottom!
