Pegasus to bring out German Vehicles.

Our 1/72nd armor range will have the German Army Truck set added to it early in 2007 (production is done, we are just awaiting delivery). The Jaguarundi (1946 German tank design) tank will be along later in the year. Tooling is complete (some minor corrections still needed) and should be here before the end of summer (2007). We have more vehicles in the works, and these will be announced at a later date.

This is news from Pegasus, the U.S. California based company. It relates to their Easy-Build range of Tanks, Buildings and Vehicles. The interesting part for us is that they will be adding 3 pre-painted 1.72 buidings which should enhance displays. The news about the 1.72 German Army Truck set is very interesting. These should be easy build ( almost snap-together in terms of modelling ) and could also be a potential add-on for members.

Do you know anything about the proposed German Army Trucks, LegioLXX11 ?

They are also to produce 2 more buildings in kit form.

Follow the link to their site :

and find out about this innovative company.

Re: Pegasus to bring out German Vehicles.

I just found out that the Pershing is a joint venture with " Trumpeter". Trumpeter is the company which make the kits for " Easy Models", so I would expect the Pershing to appear as an Easy Model, pre-built and painted in the not too distant future.

Can we have a paint job like the one below, please???

Re: Pegasus to bring out German Vehicles.

I don't have any more info other than what you posted. There are loads of pictures of their upcoming German truck on their website. Looks interesting, though I still wish someone would do one in 1/72 diecast like CDC Armour almost did.

Re: Pegasus to bring out German Vehicles.

The ground vehicles and buildings will be a welcomed addition to any 1:72 line. A 1:72 Pershing is also pretty exciting.

I presume the livery shown was a Korean war tank?

Re: Pegasus to bring out German Vehicles.

Easy Models already has a few Pershings that were released last year, though not in that particular paint scheme. Maybe they will do more down the road.

Talking Re: Pegasus to bring out German Vehicles.

Yes, LegioLXX11,

I sometimes look at my old CDC catalogue and curse the fact that CDC stopped producing before they brought out the Opel Blitzes they listed as well as the 251s.

The test shots on the CDC cat. look pretty good for die-casts and I'm sure that they would have proved to be popular.

Someone must have the moulds somewhere. Why doesn't Hongwell or Admiral buy them up and produce the vehicles in metal as they were originally intended to be? All that cash invested in products which never saw the light of day! What a waste. It almost sounds anti-capitalist!

Also, yes, I'm sure that the Pershing is a Korean War type.

On the Pegasus site you can see another painting of a Pershing on the streets of some German town with a Gothic church in the background. The pershing has just knocked out a Panther. Great tank art!

Cheers,

MoMo

Yes, LegioLXX11,

Interesting you should mention that as just earlier today I got a return email from Dino Coppola which owned CDC Armour and confirmed all the moulds were sold to the toy company Mattell. Mattell only released a few of the tanks and I doubt they will ever release any of the halftracks, trucks or Tiger tanks (who knows though).

That Pegasus Pershing artwork you're talking about is based on actual events when a Pershing took out a Panther in Cologne, Germany. It was actually caught on video and you can see the entire fight on black and white video footage.

Re: Pegasus to bring out German Vehicles.

p.s. Legio LXX11,

I sent the intel on the moulds to Jason at Admiral. Perhaps they can buy them and add to their inventory!

Who knows, stranger things have happened!
